Long time, no hear

Wow, cant believe it has been that long since I posted. I have had alot going on in my life and I know time flies...but geez!!!!! I have alot of things on the go at the moment (too many I think). But I get a tad bored if I stick to the same thing all the time so I have a few quilts on the go plus a wallhanging and tonight I decided to cut out hexagons...what is wrong with me :-) Here are some blocks I have been stitching. Some things French plus the beautiful redwork. I promise to finish something

Anzac Day

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them Another moving Anzac Day. I will never grow weary of Dawn Services and supporting our veterans and servicemen and women. Extra special this year as my son Dale read the student prayer at the march.

A Fantastic Weekend

Just spent a fantastic weekend at Country Hart with Helen Stubbings and Melissa Grant. A big thankyou to Robyn Welsh for hosting another wonderful weekend. We received some beautiful projects to create, did the chicken dance and had a lot of laughs.
Ill share some more photos once I finish off all my "started" projects

What a year already.....

In February I made a very rash decision to do a University Degree. Im always looking to learn new things, so I thought "why not" and jumped on in and enrolled before I had time to talk myself out of it. So now on top of working full time, Im doing a Bachelor of Accounting and trying to find time to sew. After 4 weeks of this so far, I think I have found my routine...who needs to do housework heh..Thats what I have put on the back I have finally finished the 2nd Thankful quilt I was making, looks lovely in my bedroom. Ive incorporated a little Roses Bloom into this one.

Im up to making my third block of this quilt and it is such a joy to make. Each block is so diverse, you are doing different things all the time. I love things with dimension which is why I love Melissas work so much. Here is the first block I made, I am making two quilts in different colours so you can see the colour interpretations.

A long overdue blog post

Now that the silly season is over, where on earth did those couple of months go. Despite the heat and the busy season, I have managed to do some sewing. I made a few things for Christmas gifts, I am really enjoying printing on fabric and making them into small bowl fillers and cushions, they look really nice when done. I also finished off a Union Jack Quilt, need to make a nice cushion to match now, I love the Moda Etchings range, it is lovely. I made my postcard stitchery into a cushion, I love this stitchery and really need to make some more as it has turned out lovely. Finally I have started a new project, I am making One Day In May Creations, BOM of Thankful quilt, I am making two at once and have just finished Block 1 and love it already. Hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas and best wishes for 2012.
