Prim Christmas.......

Here is my Prim Tree...I love how it turned out...A great way to look at a lot of your dolls at the same time...lol. I may even leave it up longer this year, I have a bad habit of pulling the tree down on boxing day because I am sick of looking at it and falling over it, Ill have to learn to be patient. I would love to see pic's of other peoples trees and their creations........

Out of action.....

I have been out of action motivation wise for awhile now....I have managed to sew a few things when I made myself. I have so many things I want to make and so little time (and inclination), not long until Christmas and I would love to make some gifts...I am up to my last block on my quilt and then need to make it all up. That bit scares me!!!! Here are a couple of things I recently made from patterns I adapted from the latest Homespun.

What is Remembrance Day?

Remembrance Day - 11 November - is set aside as a day to remember the sacrifice of those who have died for Australia in wars and conflicts. It was originally known as Armistice Day.

At 11 am on 11 November 1918 the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years continuous warfare. The allied armies had driven the German invaders back, having inflicted heavy defeats upon them over the preceding four months. In November the Germans called for an armistice (suspension of fighting) in order to secure a peace settlement. They accepted the allied terms of unconditional surrender.

The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years. The moment when hostilities ceased on the Western Front became universally associated with the remembrance of those who had died in the war. This first modern world conflict had brought about the mobilisation of over 70 million people and left between 9 and 13 million dead, perhaps as many as one-third of them with no known grave. The allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead.

We will remember them.....................
